GPC Web Scraper (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension that helps users extract publicly available data from websites such as Google Maps, Instagram, and general web pages. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles user data.
Data the Extension Collects
The Extension extracts publicly available information from web pages only at the user’s explicit request, including:
Business names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and websites (from Google Maps)
Post content, usernames, follower counts, and engagement metrics (from Instagram)
Text content, links, and structured data from generic web pages
Data the Extension Does NOT Collect
No personal data about the user (no names, emails, or accounts)
No browsing history or activity tracking
No cookies, authentication tokens, or login credentials
No analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics
No background data collection — extraction occurs only when initiated by the user
Data Usage
Extracted data is sent to the user’s configured backend server solely for CSV file generation and storage.
Data is used only for the purpose initiated by the user (exporting scraped results).
No data is sold, shared, or transferred to third parties.
No data is used for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
Data Storage
Extracted data is stored as CSV files on the user’s own server or local machine.
The Extension does not store persistent data in the browser beyond the current session.
Users can delete all stored data at any time using the Extension’s “Clear All Files” feature.
Data Transmission
Data is transmitted between the Extension and the user’s backend server via HTTPS.
No data is sent to third-party services, analytics platforms, or external servers.
The Extension communicates only with the server configured by the user.
Permissions
The Extension requests the following permissions strictly for core functionality:
